Governor Whitmer has officially announced a "stay at home" order that will remain in effect until at least April 13. As a designated essential business, we want to ensure you our doors will remain open during these trying times to evaluate and/or treat any patients who are experiencing pain or have an infection. As the world continues to adapt to the rapidly evolving coronavirus situation, our doctors are constantly monitoring for new developments and guidelines that affect yours and our practices. Our services are especially vital right now since we are still able to treat patients who would otherwise require a trip to the emergency room and take up valuable space that is needed for other emergency patients. As a reminder, we are currently adhering to the following guidelines and standards in accordance with the CDC, ADA, State of Michigan, and University of Michigan Hospital:
· New appointments are limited to necessary treatment and emergencies.
· Patients are asked to wash or sanitize their hands when they enter the office.
· Each person in the waiting room will be asked to provide proper spacing with others, and the waiting room surfaces are being routinely wiped down with disinfectant.
· Sick employees are asked to stay home using CDC and the U of M Hospital protocols.
The Michigan Dental Association has released a comprehensive guide that explains what constitutes essential and non-essential dental care. Notable essential procedures listed include uncontrolled bleeding, trauma, bacterial infection, severe pain, and tooth fractures. We are available to see any patients suffering from one of these afflictions, and several others, so if you have any patient in need, they can be evaluated right away.
